Robert "Bob" Gosselin was born in 1951 and is currently a County Commissioner in Oakland County. He has held a number of political offices including State Representative and Troy City Councilmember and is considered a social conservative with some libertarian tendencies.

Sought election to County Commission seat, eventually ousting incumbent Will Molnar.
2004
Sought election to 41st District (after 2001 redistricting) for what would amount to a final term under Michigan Term Limits, defeated several primary challengers in a contentious campaign.

Sought election to the State Senate but lost to Shirley Johnson.
