Sought election to County Commission seat, eventually ousting incumbent Will Molnar.
2004
Sought election to 41st District (after 2001 redistricting) for what would amount to a final term under Michigan Term Limits, defeated several primary challengers in a contentious campaign.

Sought election to the State Senate but lost to Shirley Johnson.
