From Michigan Transparency Wiki
Welcome to the Michigan Transparency Wiki & Archive.
What are we?
This site is intended to be a community tool for all Michiganders and others to use in documenting and cataloguing their state and local governments. The wiki concept and tool provides an opportune tool for creating a site that contains all things related to Michigan government and politics at every level contributors can imagine. Over time, the wiki intends to provide a model that users can use to fill in or quickly retrieve information on how their local government is performing. Ultimately, the success of the project depends on you. The more people that contribute to it or use it the more successful it will be.

Who are we?
The Michigan Transparency Wiki is operated by the Michigan Accountability Project, a non-profit corporation founded under Michigan law. The Michigan Accountability Project is also in the process of starting a new investigative journalism website. The wiki should be a resource for tracking citizen journalism, open records activity, and elections, along with other important features of Michigan government.
Michigan Transparency and the Michigan Accountability Project are non-partisan with the universal mission of increasing government transparency and citizen journalism in Michigan. The information offered is intended to be as accurate as possible and the wiki method of peer review is one way of getting there in the long-run, but bear in mind the information is submitted by the community and needs such review.
