Discusses $6.9 million dollar cost estimate given to the Mackinac Center after request State Police spending records.

Lawsuit relates to assault charges against attorney himself - attorney sought e-mail and other records via FOIA rather than via discovery. Township claims ongoing investigation law enforcement exemption.

  • Musicraft, Inc. et al v. City of Ann Arbor, filed August 11, 2009, Washtenaw County Circuit Court, Judge Archie C. Brown.

FOIA and Open Meetings Act case combined, alleges City Council e-mail discussion constitutes meeting.
August 12, 2009 Musicraft, Inc and others file an OMA/FOIA lawsuit on August 11, 2009 against City of Ann Arbor for closed meetings and refusals to release records related to parking garage construction issue. The local community blog and news site ArborUpdate.com analyzes and includes a link and inset to the actual complaint filed in the litigation. AnnArbor.com, an online offshoot of the now-defunct Ann Arbor News, also reports.
